Just thought of this a couple of days ago...
If you're ever in a situation where you're trying to help someone understand why there are hard times,
you can tell this to them.
It might help.

The Left Turn.

Imagine someone living in a world where you can ONLY choose a left or right turn.
A man has been taking Right Turns his entiiiiiireeee life
He's used to it and he knows his way around because it's the only thing he's known.
But one day, out of the blue
Something FAAAAAAAAAAAAR beyond his control blocks off all of his Right Turns
and he is FORCED to take a Left.
All of a sudden, his whole world changes
Just from one Left Turn.
Now he has to continue taking left turns.
He has no idea where he is going
The sights are different
And nothing is like what he is used to
He wants to go back to where he used to be
But he is already lost.
But on the way, he meets people who changes his life for the better.
Even his future wife!
The people he met helped him adjust to his new life and he found that this change happened for a better future.
He never would have been able to change unless he took a left turn.
And he never would have taken that left turn unless something had forced him to.

And sometimes, that's how life is.
God causes things to happen that are FAAAAAR beyond our control. (or maybe we even caused it ourselves)
And we might hate it for a while
But it always leads to something better than what we had settled for.
